>>Now only the dedicated blog readers will continue onwards… ooo… maybe people from facebook will now read my blog… or rather know now to avoid it! Hehe…
This past weekend was full of adventure! Not so much “Indiana Jones Adventure”, but more like “Lost” adventure. Let’s start with when I woke up, and then I will go chronologically through the day until the end, I think this will give you a clear indication that you are actually getting through my blog and not going to be reading forever, which is NOT one of my ingenious evil plans… that would be something Brendan might do. And since I’ve already spent most of this paragraph waffling on, I might as well start the story in the next paragraph and add that since I mentioned Brendan’s name, I feel an urge to tell you that we have been doing this silly (but oh so fun) competition in facebook.com to do with the amount of friends acquired, and funnily enough we have just about settled on the same amount… ok, he has one or two more, but I think that must be something to do with… umm… something.
So my alarm goes off at 6:30am, I get ready, and mission off to Des and Bev’s place. Here I was offered food and supplies for the hike, which until this point I have failed to tell you about. Our plan was to climb this mountain called Ben Ledi. The journey to Ben Ledi didn’t take long… and I took in as much of the surrounding area as I could while monitoring the Geocaches that where coming in and out of range of my GPSr. Right, so we all get set… and off we go up this rather high looking pile of dirt. After the first 100 metres up (which felt like 2km horizontally), I thought this would be a good time to have faith like a mustard seed, and just flatten the mountain out a bit, it doesn’t have to be moved or anything (silly bible humour there). We were climbing at about 10 metres per minute… just in case you were wondering, my fancy super duper gps was plotting our course, using it’s built in barometer it kept a good eye on the elevation, and I kept a good eye on it! The thought did cross my mind that a Geocache needed to be placed at the top, but it’s not as fun without my caching buddy…
We did eventually get to the top, and we took a nice pic of us all resting and eating foodies. The total height of the mountain was about 875m I think. And although we started off at 140m, calculating all the ups and downs into it, my gps said we actually climbed a total of 988 metres. On the way down we got a little lost… and before I go any further I would like to just say that I knew exactly where I was with regard to my global position and the fact that we where heading AWAY from the parking area. But we figured that the path we were following would eventually get us down, which it may or may not have done… but we decided to just cut across… I said “go that way” and that’s sort of the way we went, through all sorts of bushes and rocky outcrops… flashes of past geocaching experiences were at the tip of my brain. I’m going to just say that the rest of the trip took a while, and I think if I go into any further detail I will loose the 3 people that might be reading this blog. So… we get to the bottom… rush off to have ice creams… head home to Edinburgh… watch some friends… and then catch a bus… let go of the bus near home… facebook until my eyes were sore, and then went to bed. Confused yet? Well that’s all… blog about finished…
Hey cool... a brilliant song has just come onto acaza!!! “Family Force 5 – Supersonic”
For all you interested in Christian rock and hip/hop check out www.acaza.com. You need quite a fast internet connection though. Alright, I think I’m going to finish for now. Since I don’t have too much interesting news to share, I think I will just end by saying “HAVE FUN EVERYONE!”. Nothing like having a positive attitude I always say, especially around negatively charged woman ;) (ok I’m not sure where that came from… hehe… ignore me, and quickly close this page!)
